Hi every one ! hope you are having a great day. I sure am. Before I get to the fun let me say that this week we have had 4 water main breaks so far one of them on my street. Thats right as I am writing this we have no running water.

Having said that lets let the madness begin

First I was given a paper today of some true stories of stupid people. Here are some of those stories

• Police in Okland CA spent 2 hours attempting to subdue a gunman who barricaded himself inside his home. After firing 10 tear gas canisters into the house the officers discovered that the man was standing beside them in the police line shouting "please come out and give yourself up"
• An Illinois man pretending to have a gun kidnapped a motorist and forced him to drive to 2 different ATMs where the kidnapper proceeded to withdraw money from his own bank accounts .
• Police in LA had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn't control himself during a line up . When detectives asked each man to repeat the words "Give me all your money. Or I'll shoot" the man shouted " That's not what I said!"
• A man spoke frantically into the phone "My wife is pregnant and the contractions are only 2 minutes apart " " Is this her first child ?" the doctor asked . " NO!" the man shouted " this is her husband!"
  
• In Modesto CA Steven Richard King was arrested for trying to hold up a Bank of America branch without a weapon. King used his thumb and a finger to simulate a gun. Unfortunately he failed to keep his hand in his pocket .

b-day shout out something about swine flu and I got my tickets

Hello every one ! For a start I have to say Happy Birth Day to my little brother Nick who turned 21 today.

Secondly I got my tickets in the mail today for the mothers day bay cruise and brunch I am taking my mom to. I am so excited I will be sure to take lots of pics and post them.

And last but not least let me tell you a little something I have learned about this swine flu out break

1. Normally flu is named for the country that it started so this traditionaly should be called the Mexican flu.
2. I have learned that in a normal year in the US 200,000 people get the flu
3. I have also learned that 35,000 people die of the flu in the US
   
4. Over 1 million people die world wide a year due to the flu

PC run amuck, and why the name changes ?

Hi every one! Where to get started in this post I wanna talk about a couple things . So I guess I will get started

Do you think this is PC taking it to far ?
In the big beauty contest this past weekend there was controversy over what Miss California gave as an answer to her question on gay marriage. I don't if there is same sex marriages BUT that is my opinion and I am as entitled to it as Miss California is of hers. Why should she have to lie just to be Miss USA or what ever it was that she was running for? And on top of that apparently the guy who asked the question later attacked her on his blog calling her a bitch. If you ask me he went way to far just because he disagreed with her or what ever his reason was.

Secondly have you noticed the new name for global warming ? If not it is now being called " Global Climate Change" do you think that's because it is now starting to cool down again and they don't want to admit it ?

How about Acts of terror now being called Man Made Catastrophes ? I'm not even sure what the point of that one is .

There are others but for now I can't think of them. but I will try to post them if I remember.

The amazing Mr. Yamaguchi

Japan has certified the only known man to have survived both the bomb at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I know this is a bit old but still I think it was worth posting about because it is just really amazing I think . Mr. Yamaguchi now aged 93 went to Hiroshima for a business trip during the first bomb and after suffering burns returned home to Nagasaki just in time for bomb # 2 for more info click here.

on the lighter side I heard today that for the small price of $26k you can get a first row seat at Yankees Stadium. but so far for the season they lost both their games to the Orioles. GO O's !
